Due to Monday being Canada Day, numerous facilities and roads will be closed for the day.

The High River and Foothills Joint Administration Building, Family and Community Support Services, Greater Foothills Family Centre, Public Works Administration Building, Recycling Centre, High River RCMP Administration Office, High River Department Administration Office, Bob Snodgrass Recreation Complex, and the library will all be closed for the day.

Due to Canada Day activities, there will also be several road closures so people can wander around safely.

George Lane Park, 9 Street SE from 6 Ave SE to 9 Ave SE, 9 Ave SE from the 9 Street SE intersection to 12 Street SE, and access to 9 Ave SE from both 10 and 11 Street SE will all be closed to vehicles for the day.

The Town is reminding everyone driving in town to be on the watch for high foot traffic, especially around where the festivities will occur.

Garbage collection and emergency services, including 9-1-1, will not be affected by these holiday closures.

Canada Day festivities will happen at George Lane Park and at Emerson Lake, starting Monday morning.
