The Alberta-filmed HRO television series The Last of Us picked up eight Emmy's over the weekend.

And it wasn't even the main awards show so you can imagine that more will be coming Monday, January 15 for the Primetime awards show.

This past Saturday Emmys were handed out as part of the 75th Creative Arts Emmys awards with many of them being technical awards.

The Last of Us snagged Emmys for prosthetic makeup, special visual effects, main title design, sound editing, sound mixing, and picture editing, as well as guest actress in a drama series (Storm Reid) and guest actor in a drama series (Nick Offerman).

There was also a win for the locally shot movie Prey which won for sound editing.
