The new Predator movie 'Prey' is now out but it's not on the big screen.

You can catch it on Disney+ in Canada and on Hulu in the USA as it was just released on Friday, August 5.

The film was shot on the ancestral lands of the Stoney Nakoda Nation in the Foothills including Moose Mountain just west of Bragg Creek and the Elbow river.

The movie, rated R for violence, is rather unique as well because some of the dialogue is in Comanche.  20th Century Fox is also working on a complete dub of the movie in Comanche.

It's set in 1719 and focuses on a Comanche woman breaking gender tradition and becoming a warrior who then fights a Predator.

It stars Amber Midthunder, Dakota Beavers, Stormee Kipp, and Stefany Mathias

It's the fifth film in the Predator series and it's also a prequel to the first four films.

The film incorporates natural light and scenery that many Albertans will recognize.

Dan Trachtenberg directs the movie, it's his second feature film since his debut 10 Cloverfield Lane.

Reviews are giving it two thumbs up, saying it's as good as the original Predator movie from 1987 starring Arnold Schwarzenegger.
