High River's Jason Glass was left in the crying hole on Saturday night at the Ponoka Stampede.
One of the premier chuckwagon races of the WPCA Pro Tour saw Glass finish in 5th after the aggregate and just one and three-quarter seconds out of making the finals.
The $75,000 Tommy Dorchester Championship Final Heat winner-take-all all was won by Luke Tournier. It's his first time winning the prestigious WPCA event.
All 12,000 spectators packed the stands which saw Chanse Vigen win the aggregate title and will drive home a 2024 GMC Truck just like he did last year.
Vigen would knock over a barrel in the final heat and miss his chance to win back-to-back titles and buckles.
Rae Croteau Jr. finished in second, Kurt Bensmiller placed third with Vigen in fourth.
The drivers, wagons, and horses now saddle up and head to Calgary for the Stampede which kicks off this Friday, July 5.
