RCMP say a Shelter in Place order has been lifted after one person was arrested in Siksika First Nation.

On June 15th, Gleichen RCMP received a call about a potential gunshot wound in the Map 8 area of the First Nation.

Police found the victim and made sure he received medical attention for injuries to his arm.

Due to the gunshot, residents in the area were placed under a Shelter-in-place order to ensure everyone's safety.

The RCMP Emergency Response Team found the suspect in a home, where he surrendered to officers.

The suspect is a resident of Siksika First Nation and was arrested and charged with:

•            Attempted murder

•            Pointing a firearm

•            Unauthorized possession of a firearm

•            Possessing a prohibited firearm

•            Failing to comply with conditions

The suspect was remanded into custody and will appear in court on June 20th.
