The Sheep River Health Trust has been hard at work these last two months hosting a Radiothon and an online 50/50 .

On Tuesday, July 28th the Sheep River Health Trust presented a cheque to Alberta Health Services for $39,894.

Executive Director for Sheep River Health Trust Andrea Mitchell says these funds will go towards AHS returning to a new normal.

In June every year The Eagle 100.9 FM host a Radiothon and this year allocated three community programs to donate to with the rest donated to Alberta Health Services.

Mitchell says AHS has fought for us so she was proud to see everyone come together to support them during the coronavirus pandemic.

"As you can imagine AHS is really in the trenches right now to keep our community safe and healthy and their staff safe and healthy. As we get back to somewhat normalcy in programs there are definite programs that will need our support to come back online."

Mitchell says the community is really the ones to thank here.

"It's our community that comes forward for us every time, Radiothon as an example, we were in a shutdown, we decide to go for it as an event and we raised over $40,000."

Funds will also go towards supporting Rowan House, It Takes a Village and The Foothills Country Hospice.
