The Rowan House Society's 3rd annual 'Swing for Change' golf tournament is at D'Arcy Ranch in Okotoks today.

The women's shelter is looking to raise funds to support continued programs at the Rowan House.

Executive Director Linette Soldan says it's about raising awareness and not about keeping score.

"I feel like it's relaxing, Zen.  And it's a lot of community members that are there that you can connect with as well and have great conversations with."

The fundraiser lined up auction items and 50/50 tickets along with some other planned fun and events today.

"It is going to be a fun-filled day. There's going to be a lot of wonderful community members so you can connect with people, have great conversations but also be part of a bigger movement of raising awareness on domestic violence.

The women's shelter has been part of the Foothills for 24 years now and looks forward to the communities continued support.
