The Okotoks Oilers faced off against the Bandits in Brooks on Friday night.

And it was another barnburner with the arena packed with over 1,500 fans.

Both teams have been excluded from playing eleven other AJHL teams due to the recent announcement that the Oilers, Bandits, Blackfalds Bandits, Spruce Grove Saints and Sherwood Park Crusaders are moving to the BCHL next season.

The Oilers were leading 2-0 after the first period but the Bandits battled back and ended up winning 3-2.

The Oilers were hopeful the AJHL would allow Saturday night's home game against the Whitecourt Wolverines to go ahead but that was not the case.

Okotoks now only has two games remaining in the season, unless the AJHL changes their mind, and they're both against Sherwood Park.
