The Okotoks Oilers along with the four other AJHL teams that are joining the BCHL next year would like to finish playing the rest of the season.

On all five teams Facebook pages a statement was posted Thursday night.

The five teams are the Okotoks Oilers, Brooks Bandits, Blackfalds Bulldogs, Spruce Grove Saints and the Sherwood Park Crusaders.

The news broke over the weekend that all five teams would be joining the BCHL next season according to a release from them.  The AJHL were quick to respond by cancelling games that had any of the five teams scheduled to play any of the remaining 11 teams in the AJHL.

So far, the Oilers have one game tonight in Brooks and then only two more games against the Sherwood Park Crusaders. The other 10 games they had scheduled have been cancelled by the AJHL.
