The Okotoks Bisons showed why they were the number one team in the regular season at the Murray arena Friday night.

The Bisons walked all over the Medicine Hat Cubs 8-0 to take a 2-0 lead in their best-of-seven south division final.

Austin O'Bray lead the way with a natural hat trick, scoring the Bisons first three goals including one on the power play.

The Bisons special teams really performed too going 3 for 6 on the power play and shutting down the Cubs on the penalty kill five times.

Other Bison goal scorers included Evan Woods, Alaister Standen, Jake Snashall, Dan Lindeman and Scott Brown.

Netminder Dylan Fries stopped all 24 shots for the shutout.

The Bisons chased the Cubs starting goaltender out after two periods after allowing four goals on 26 shots, but the relief didn't work as he let in four goals on 12 shots.

Game three goes Saturday night in the Hat for an 8:15 p.m. puck drop.
