A multi-vehicle collision resulted in injuries and major delays north of Okotoks this morning (Jan. 3).

The collision occurred in the northbound lanes of Highway 2A just before the split to Highway 2.

According to RCMP Media Relations, officers were called to the scene at 7:28 a.m.

One vehicle struck another, with two more oncoming vehicles then colliding into them.

The morning's heavy fog is believed to have been a factor.

A portion of the highway was closed while the vehicles were removed from the scene.

One person suffered minor injuries and another had moderate injuries, though nothing life-threatening, according to the RCMP.

The scene has now been reopened.

More information will be provided as it's made available.
