The High River Brewing Co. Flyers finished off the regular season on a seven-game winning streak.

It allowed them to leapfrog into the final playoff spot in the Heritage Junior Hockey League over the long weekend.

The Flyers had some big wins under their belt including to overtime wins to propel them into the playoffs.

They now face off against the Cochrane Generals in the opening round.

The Generals finished the season on a four-game losing skid with a record of 21-12-5 for 47 points to the Flyers record of 20-15-3 for 43 points.

The Flyers kick off the playoffs tonight, Tuesday Feb. 20, in Cochrane with an early start time of 6:45 p.m.

Then the teams face off this Thursday in High River with a 7 p.m. start time.

And with it being a best of three series, if a game three is needed then it's back to Cochrane this Friday for the deciding game.

Meanwhile, the Carstar Okotoks Bisons finished the regular season with another winning season finishing first overall with 69 points, just beating the Sylvan Lake Wranglers from the north division with 68 points.

Both teams get a bye for round one with the Bisons hosting the winner of the Flyers-Generals series in round two.
