It was a successful weekend for the local HJHL teams, especially for the High River Brewing Co. Flyers.

They picked up two wins while debuting their new jerseys. They doubled up on the visiting Mountainview Colts 4-2 on Friday night with rookie Connor Smith scoring a hat trick and adding an assist on the other goal by Easton Weasel Head. Smith leads the league in goals with 12 and in points with 21 as he also scored another in the team's 15-1 drubbing in Ponoka against the Stampeders on Sunday.

And the Carstar Okotoks Bisons also won the only game they had in the schedule. They travelled to Sylvan Lake on Saturday and beat the Wranglers 4-3 in a shootout. The Bisons took a 3-1 lead into the second period, but the Wranglers tied it up before the end of the second period and with no scoring in the third or overtime it headed to a shootout. It took seven shooters to decide the winner and it was Jakob Semeniuk scoring for the Herd for the win.
