A former EMT, firefighter and Fire Chief in High River passed away August 30th at the age of 83.

Lark IsBell was born and raised in High River, the youngest of seven children.

He received his Emergency Medical Technician's training at NAIT in Edmonton and SAIT in Calgary as well as Vermillion Firefighter Training.

IsBell was with Highwood EMS and the High River Fire Department for 29 years, ten as Fire Chief, retiring in 1999.

He had also been a chuckwagon outrider, did rodeo flat racing and was owner/operator of E and R Trucking.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years Lynne.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
