Recommendations from a pair of very in-depth reports have been accepted by High River town council.

Council received reports on Climate Change Adaptation and Active Transportation at its last meeting.

Both studies are funded through federal grants.

The Climate Change Adaptation report looked at the effects of drought, high water events, wildfire and extreme heat and outlined steps to mitigate the potential damage from them.

The Active Transportation report outlined ways to get around without using motorized vehicles and ways to make sure the varied areas of the community are able to be connected.

The reports will be used to help managers develop work plans moving forward and will be used by staff in writing grant applications.
