Labour day weekend is a quiet one here in the Foothills. With school right around the corner, many families take this weekend to get prepped for the upcoming school year or to get away one last time before the hectic fall season begins.

On Saturday, The Eagle Street Team was up bright and early to make their way to the Okotoks Agricultural Society.

August 31, 2019, marked the 63rd Annual Okotoks & District Horse Show. Horses and their riders competed in many different classes. Junior Showmanship, Senior Showmanship, Western Horsemanship, are just a few of the many classes in which riders could compete. Each class was assigned a pattern to follow which highlights the straight lines, pivots, and turns marked by the judge. The judge was looking for the rider's and horse's ability to follow the pattern, the correct positioning, and style.

As the summer events begin to wind down for the year my time at The Eagle is soon coming to an end so unfortunately, The Eagle Street Team will not be able to make all the community events. Make sure you check out the community events calendar to keep updated on all the upcoming events here in Okotoks.

Make sure you tune into The Eagle 100.9 on Tuesday and Wednesday to get hints of where the Eagle Street Team will be with the "Backpack 2 School" packs. The first person to find us will win an awesome backpack with amazing prizes inside from our friends at Cycleworks, NAPA Okotoks, 94 Take the Cake, Tailgate, the George, Creekstone, Boosterjuice, Landmark, Papa Johns, and Rowan House.
