There's a new location for fireworks on Canada Day

Diamond Valley is gearing up for a pool party and fireworks again on Canada Day this year.

After having a very successful parade and Discovery Day on June 1, they're now getting ready for Canada's birthday on July 1.

The town gets the birthday party started off with Toonie swimming at the Dr. Lander Memorial Swimming Pool.

Pool times for the Toonie swim run from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., 12:45-2:45 p.m., and 3-5 p.m.

The fireworks will be set off in a new location this year, by the Oilfields Regional Arena and Erma Joy Brown Park.

They will be set off anywhere between 9:45 and 10:15 p.m. depending on how dark it is.

The town also reminds you to get there early for the best viewing.
