Get ready for some carnival fun this weekend in High River.

The Wild Rose Carnival is back again this year at the Bob Snodgrass Recreation Complex in the east parking lot.

Heather Ross, special events coordinator with the Town of High River says it gets underway on Friday at noon with something special planned for the kiddos.

"So, when the carnival opens, we're going to have Riley the Horse, the town mascot is going to be out and the first 30 kids that make it to 'pluck a duck', the first 30 kids are going to compete to win some prizes and compete against Riley."

And they've got rides for all ages.

"We've got the Gravitron, the Zipper's coming, there's going to be the Hurricane. We've got the Berry-Go-Round, Bumper Cars...so great ones for the kids as well."

The Super Slide will also be set up along with Sky Fighters, Castle Mania and a carousel.

And all the carnival food you can stomach from mini-donuts to snow-cones, cotton candy, candy apples, popcorn and more.

For the little ones, there are balloon games, a fishpond, water races and some other family-friendly activities.

While admission is free there's a cost for the rides, games and food.

Single tickets for rides are $1.00 with all-day wristbands selling for $40.00 and are valid only for the day of regardless of weather.

And it runs from 12:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and then from 12:00 p.m. till 5:00 p.m. on Sunday.
