The RCMP have confirmed a suspect was taken into custody after a shooting in Okotoks this afternoon (May 1).
Just after 3 p.m., Okotoks RCMP responded to reports of a shooting in Sheep River Court.
In a media release, they confirmed that a 53-year-old man who had suffered a gunshot wound was transported to hospital VIA STARS air ambulance.
He's in serious but stable condition.
A 26-year-old man was arrested at the scene, and charges are pending.
Police have determined it to have been an isolated incident, and that there is no threat to members of the public.
The RCMP are still investigating and will remain in the area for the time being.
