The Okotoks Oilers split their two games over the Thanksgiving long weekend.

In their second straight game against the Drumheller Dragons on Friday night at the Centennial Arena the Oilers lost 4-3 in a shootout.

The team was down 2-0 heading into the third period when the Oilers mounted a comeback.  Brett Huxley, Dean Spak and Rylan Brown notched goals to tie it up and send it to overtime with Spak scoring shorthanded.  And after OT didn't settle the outcome, it went to a shootout with the Dragons notching the only goal for the win.

Once again, the team was stymied by Dragons netminder Jameson Kaine who faced 36 shots with the Dragons only getting 17 shots on net.

Then, the Oilers picked up two points over the Grande Prairie Storm on Thanksgiving Monday with a 5-2 victory.

Over 1000 fans took in the home game yesterday cheering them on as the Oilers record is now 6-3-0-1 for 13 points.

Five different Oilers skaters notched goals with three of them coming on the power play.  The Oilers were 3 for 7 on the power play while locking down their penalty kills and shutting out the Storm who went 0-5.

The Oilers now get set to host their next two games at home at the Centennial Arena this Friday and Saturday.
