The BCHL's Okotoks Oilers came ready to play against the Sherwood Park Crusaders on Friday night (March 15), piling the shots on net early.

The first period would end scoreless but the Green and Gold would put a ton of pucks on net outshooting the Crusaders 17-7.

The second is where things would open up. Jack Silverberg put the first goal on the board with less than two minutes in. The Crusaders would quickly respond and tie it up.

Silverberg wouldn't let up though, scoring another two goals only 24 seconds apart, completing the hat trick against Erick Roest, Crusaders goaltender and Silverberg's former teammate with Canada West in the 2023 World Junior A Hockey Challenge.

The 19-year-old Silverberg has seven goals in just twelve games since the Oilers moved to the BCHL.

Sherwood Park would find the back of the net again late in the third, but the Green and Gold's netminder Christian Green would stand tall stopping 28 shots in the contest.

Oilers went on to win the game 3-2 giving Sherwood Park their first regulation loss since February 19. The win also snaps the Crusaders' four-game win streak.

Okotoks hits the road and plays again on Saturday night (March 16) at Eagle Builders Centre in Blackfalds.

Oilers and Bulldogs puck drop is at 6:00.
