BCHL Okotoks Oilers forward Owen MacNeil announced that he is headed to U SPORTS University of Western Ontario Mustangs in London Ontario after the season's end. 

MacNeil spent the two seasons prior to this one with the Medicine Hat Tigers of the WHL and was their captain last season. He would go on to play 130 games for the Tigers, netting 49 points in that time span. MacNeil also spent a few years with the Spokane Chiefs of the WHL playing in 67 games. 

This season with the Oilers, MacNeil has potted 12 goals and 38 assists with a total of 50 points so far.

He now has become the 13th player on the Oilers to be committed to post-secondary hockey. The other 12 players who have committed are Rylan Brown (Michigan Tech), Connor Gourley (Robert Morris), Sam Hall (St. Lawrence), Brennen Hocher (Nebraska Omaha), Sam Huck (Western Michigan), Brody Maguire (RPI), Hunter Sawka (Western Michigan), Jack Silverberg (Dartmouth), Dean Spak (Alaska Fairbanks), Jagger Tapper (RPI), Kade Turner (Ferris State), and Nick Wolfenberg (Cornell).
