I mean...I am still in the middle of my research BUT I was pleasantly surprised by some of the feedback I got from you!

I can 100% say that my iPhone use has gone up a million since isolating....my average screen time last week was 12 hours a day....good lord.

It's embarrassing, but it's the truth and I must live my truth lol.

You on the other hand, when asked the question on Facebook, came back with some positive comments!

One of my favourite comments was from our friend Tracy, "I'm the total opposite! I use my phone less now than ever!! I've enjoyed disconnecting from social media and endless Covid-19 news...I'm enjoying spending time with my kids!"

It's so refreshing to hear that people are not relying on their phones too much to pass time while isolated (excluding me 🙈).

I don't want to get TOO heavy because we really don't need any more negative energy right now but in short, these are some of the effects looking at your phone too much can have on you:

- Eye strain and headaches

- Insomnia and poor sleep

- Social Media addictions can cause anxiety, depression and self-esteem issues.

- Neck, Back and Shoulder Pains (also finger strains!)

SO DROP THE PHONE! I get while isolated it's a bit different because you need to stay sane somehow...BUT instead of going to your phone do something from the list below:

- Make a to-do list

- Cross something off that to-do list.

- Clean (and when you're done cleaning, clean some more!)

- Make your bed

- Do a fun craft with the kids.

- Play a game that will challenge your mind (i.e. Sudoku, crossword, word search)

- PUZZLE (that will kill a ton of time!)

- Go for a walk (Try to get those 10,000 steps in while practice safe social distancing!)

- Colour, paint draw something. (And then throw it up in your window so it gives your neighbours something to smile about)

- Cook something NEW!

- Meditate.

- Do a home work out or learn a new yoga pose.

- Two words: DANCE PARTY.

- Make a bucket list! (So once we get out of isolation you'll hit the ground running!)

- Reach out to an old friend. (Maybe do this one on your computer so you avoid that smartphone lol)

- Clean your make up brushes if you have them (god only knows when you did it last!)

- Play some cards!

- Listen to the Eagle 100.9 and check out the Okotoks Online page to see what's going on in the area (Shameless Plug Alert! 😂)

The list goes on and on so if you're struggling to stay off your phone try to tackle something from the list before you check your phone for the one billionth time.

If you're not struggling - keep doing you!

Add to the list of fun things to do instead of looking at your phone in the comment section on Facebook!
