The Highwood varsity basketball teams were on the road this last weekend.

The Senior Varsity boys travelled to Sylvan Lake to compete in the HJ Cody tournament.

They lost their first game on Friday night against the Lacombe Rams but managed to turn it around on Saturday.

They outscored the Maskwacis Grizzlies for a final score of 76-64 on Saturday morning and beat the David Thompson Voyageurs with a score of 78-64, winning the consolation final.

While the boys were in Sylvan Lake, the Junior Varsity girls travelled to Canmore, where they also added a couple notches in the win column.

During their first game, they beat Bow Valley High School by a whopping 20 points.

After that, they took on the Canmore Wolverines, where they narrowly won by 5 points.

Unfortunately, the STS Spartans were too much for the Highwood girls and they couldn't clinch the championship.
