The Town of High River and the High River Fire Department are wishing the residents of Fox Creek a "welcome home."

Staff from the High River Fire Department and Protective Services were among those called to assist with the wildfires in Central Alberta.

With the evacuation for the Town of Fox Creek now having been lifted, residents are starting to re-enter their homes.

In a video from the Town of High River, Deputy Chief of Emergency Services Steve Debienne talks about his experience working with others to battle the fire and protect the homes of fellow Albertans.

Mayor Craig Snodgrass was also quoted in the video.

"High River was able to give back and help in this emergency, just as so many gave to our community during the flood in 2013... We are happy that our knowledgeable fire crews, staff and specialists could provide aid in this emergency."
