Volunteers showed up in droves on Saturday morning for the annual teardown of the Christmas lights and displays at George Lane Park.

The request was made for volunteers to show up at 9 a.m. and help till about noon in order to pack away all the displays and decorations.

The teardown and clean up was delayed due to the long winter and recent melting and freezing locking many cords and displays in ice.

The annual Light Up High River Christmas edition kicks off the night of the Santa Claus Parade and it will return again next year.
