The Okotoks Bisons stretched their winning streak to 11 games over the weekend.
But it was a close call on Friday night at the Murray arena.
The Bisons hosted Medicine Hat and had to take them to a shootout before beating the Cubs 2-1.
Each team scored twice in the opening round of the shootout before Avery Greig scored in the eighth round for the win.
The Herd then travelled to Red Deer and took out the Vipers 8-2 on Saturday night peppering their goalies with 54 shots on net.
Over in High River, the High River Brewing Co. Flyers had a road game up in Airdrie on Friday night.
The Flyers skated away with a 4-1 victory over the Thunder as their record improves to 8-8-1.
