Delegates from across the province were in Edmonton last weekend  for the 77th Annual Convention for the Alberta Association of Agricultural Societies.

They were able to take in sessions revolving around Judging School, Farm Succession and Rural Community Development, Emergency Planning, Grant Writing, Strategies for Recruiting and Retaining Volunteers, and more.

Fifty tradeshow exhibitors showcased their products and services including beverage providers, entertainment acts, farm equipment, and ticket sales. 

The Association honoured outstanding achievements in Marketing with 42 awards across 6 categories and 3 classes.

Ag Societies submitted their Fair Posters, Website Designs, and Social Media Advertising for their respective events for them to be voted on.

Seven students received scholarships including Adysen William of the Stavely Agriculture Society.

The 2023 Agricultural Society Innovation Awards were handed out to three societies.

Among the runners-up were the Stavely Agricultural Society for modifying its rink to host the 2023 Elks National Curling Championships and the Vulcan & District Agricultural Society for expanding the exhibition grounds to host more and larger events.
