High River RCMP conducted an enhanced policing event on Friday November 6.

Constable Jill Kingdon-Mills says they decided to bring in some help for the night.

"We brought in more High River RCMP officers for the evening so we had more officers on duty that we would typically have on a Friday evening," she says. "We had comments from residents and the public that we were doing traffic stops with, 'what's with all the police around tonight' or even some were saying 'this is the second time we've been pulled over tonight, they definitely were taking notice that there was more police officers out and about and that there was more traffic stops being made as a result of this enhanced policing and having more people out there."

Officers were able to execute six arrest warrants, lay one impaired driving charge, one breach of conditions charge and wrote 16 tickets.

Constable Kingdon-Mills says at the same time they continued to respond to complaint calls and spent time patrolling to town and speaking with residents.
