It's a complicated system, but it works.

The Holy Trinity Academy Knights begin the quest for the South-Central Zone football title tonight (Oct. 26) in Cochrane.

The South-Central Zone encompasses two leagues surrounding Calgary and three independent teams, so it presents a challenge.

Tier II is particularly difficult because eight teams can qualify for the two berths into provincials.

HTA takes on the Strathmore Spartans to determine the seeding for the "independent" teams.

WH Croxford will play Springbank for the second seed out of Rockyview since Cochrane already has the number one seed sewn up.

On November 3 and 4, there will be a pair of crossover games featuring the Independent #1 against Rockyview #2 and Rockyview #1 taking on Independent #2 to determine the South-Central Zone reps in provincials.
