Chanse Vigen made history at the Ponoka Stampede this week.

He not only won the $75,000.00 Tommy Dorchester Championship final heat on Sunday, but he won every night on his way to get there.

Vigen broke a 61-year-old record set by Dale Flett's streak of five consecutive first place runs set at the Calgary Stampede in 1962.

Vigen gets to drive away in his new GMC truck he won for being the aggregate winner on his way to the Calgary Stampede running July 7-16.

Vigen also won the Grande Prairie Stompede earlier this season.

Locally, Mark Sutherland had a hot heat and finished in fourth overall for some day money, Dayton Sutherland came in 11th with Jason Glass next in 12th on the day and Jordie Fike came through in 25th. 

Jason Glass was looking hopeful for making the final eight for the semi-finals but just missed out and ended in 11th overall in the aggregate.
