Some Facebook posts and questions from residents have the Town of High River putting out an update on the work being done on the Centre Street Bridge.

A number of people have noticed long stretches where there was no one working on the bridge while traffic was backed up because the bridge is down to one alternating lane.

The town says the outside rails of the bridge have been removed and are at another location being stripped, repaired, and painted.

To protect the water, the rail work is being done away from the river.

Work on the Centre Street Bridge has it down to one alternating lane which has prompted questions from residents about the lack of workers active on the bridge.

Construction crews will return in two to three weeks to complete other maintenance, with the rails expected to be back on site in approximately six weeks.
