Summer must be back because the outdoor piano that we all enjoyed so much last summer is back downtown Okotoks in the Olde Town Plaza. It's new look was revealed today. It is looking fresh, new and inviting thanks to artist Danzel Carrasco who won the Paint the Piano contest and created this piece of art for us to enjoy.

The piano was unveiled by Okotoks Mayor Bill Robertson, Culture and Heritage Manager, Allan Boss; Art Gieck, who donated the piano; and Okotoks Arts Council president, Linda McCallum and of course the artist herself, Danzel Carrasco, who then sat down to play the piano she painted. The audience soaked up the sunshine and enjoyed the beautiful music that filled the air. Marc Houde continued to entertain over the lunch hour as he played a variety of music and educated the crowd about music therapy.

Yes, it is good to have the piano back downtown, so come on down this summer and play a tune or two yourself.

Don't forget to pack a lunch and enjoy the remaining Picnic at the Piano concerts that are scheduled for June 22, July 20, and August 24.
