Okay, it's not ALL the answers to your burning questions...this isn't a 'Dear Abby' column, but it is all the answers to the burning questions you sent in for Fire Prevention Week!

We've been celebrating fire prevention all week long with the Okotoks Fire Department and part of the festivities were sending in your fire safety questions to Trevor Brice, fire chief and director of emergency management for the town, to answer.

Well, we got a lot of great questions from people of all ages within the community, so without further ado, here are some really great answers from the fire chief.

Questions/Answers:

1. How do I know if I need to replace my fire alarm?

2. My senior father will be moving in with us soon. He wears hearing aids that he takes out when he sleeps. How can I make sure he’ll hear a fire alarm?

3. Why is it dangerous to put out a cigarette in the dirt in your flower pots or garden?

4. I know what to do if a fire alarm sounds. What am I supposed to do if my CO alarm goes off?

5. My brother is just a baby and can’t walk. What will happen to him when the fire alarm beeps?

6. My alarm always goes off when I cook, even if there’s not much smoke or steam. What can I do so it stops going off every meal?

7. We just got a portable space heater for our home office. I’m paranoid it will start a fire. What can I do to make it safer to use?

8. Where does CO come from in my home? Where is the best place to install it?

9. How do I make a home fire escape plan that my young kids will understand?

10. When I’m cooking, sometimes the oil sputters and burns my hand. What’s the best way to treat small cooking burns?

11. With the weather getting colder, we hope to start using our fireplace again soon. Is there anything we should do or be aware of before we light it for the first time?

And that's a wrap! To recap the entire prevention week click HERE, all winners from the contests will be announced tomorrow, (Oct.9), thanks for sending in your burning questions and have a splendid Thanksgiving!
