RCMP have provided more information on Wednesday's police operation at the Eden Valley First Nation.

Shortly before noon, they advised the public of a heavy police presence due to an ongoing incident.

Foothills RCMP were moving to execute an arrest warrant on an adult male.

According to RCMP, the suspect was uncooperative and would not leave the residence, and containment was set up around the home.

The Emergency Response Team and police dog units were called to assist, and police remained on scene for several hours.

A release was sent out on behalf of Foothills RCMP asking members of the public to stay away and for residents of the area not to post about police activity on social media.

Officers eventually entered and cleared the residence and didn't find the suspect inside.

At around 5:20 p.m., a second statement was released to notify the public that the incident had ended.

Police continue to search for the suspect.
