During today's COVID-19 update from the Alberta government, four deaths were announced, bringing the total to 59. Two of these individuals were residents of continuing care facilities, one was a resident of the Edmonton zone, and the fourth was an employee of the Cargill Plant North of High River.

Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Deena Hinshaw provided some details on the Cargill plant. 360 cases have been confirmed among workers from the plant, however 484 cases have been linked to the outbreak in communities connected to the plant.

Many of the new cases related to the outbreak were exposed up to two weeks ago, prior to increased measures being put into place.

105 new cases have been reported, with 2908 total.

1230 individuals have recovered.

Over 100,000 tests have been administered, with 3718 tests completed in the last 24 hours.

With outbreaks connected to a number of workplaces across Alberta, the province has elected to begin posting the location and facility names of outbreaks in the province, with the first post expected tomorrow afternoon.

A list of outbreaks in continuing care and acute care facilities will also be provided.

The list will expand in coming weeks.

Case numbers for specific outbreaks will not be included as they would likely become out of date quickly due to the rapidly spread during such outbreaks.
