COVID-19 has forced the Town of High River put a couple priorities on the back burner.

Deputy Mayor Jamie Kinghorn says one project Council would like to see move forward is a pedestrian bridge across the Highwood River on Centre Street.

"One of council's priorities is some sort of a pedestrian, bike bridge, that sort of thing across the river to bring the south and north sides of High River together," he says. "Right now the bridge acts a s a natural barrier and it's almost, I would say, almost unsafe to try and ride a bike across the old bridge that we have there."

He says they're looking at different option like where it could be located and how much it could cost.

Kinghorn says council's also had to put off tours of other town's indoor aquatic facilities because of the pandemic.

He says the first step is to see what's out there and get prices.

They were going to tour four other community's facilities but because of the pandemic that's had to be postponed.
