Even with no one playing it right now, pickleball remains strong in High River.

Brian Popowitch with the local pickleball club, says like everyone else, they're on hold for the time being, but excited to get back when they can.

"We're just like everybody else, we're kind of on hold. We just got a notice from the Town, we've got notice from the government basically saying that we should be going, hopefully coming up by January 17th. So, it's a whole month away plus. But, we're going to abide by all the rules and regulations and go from there. We want to be safe and healthy."

Popowitch says even with the pandemic he's getting questions about how to join up this winter.

"Probably the best way is to get a hold of me, Brian, at (403)652-6617."

Popowitch says pickleball has really picked up speed since coming to High River.
