This is something I’ve been dreaming about since I first fell in love with photography - shooting at the Calgary Stampede!!!!

I originally got myself a camera in 2019 because I needed one before starting SAIT’s journalism program that fall.

I had no idea how much I’d fall in love with the photography side of things, and I ended up choosing the photo major over the print and online major for my second year.

Having just graduated last month and starting a new job as a reporter at The Eagle 100.9/Okotoks Online fresh out of school, I’m having a blast and am pumped for the return of professional sports events.

I’ve been to the Calgary Stampede before, but this was my first time with a big lens and camera in tow.

I lathered up in sunscreen, and Shayne and I headed out to the Stampede grounds for a fun afternoon in the summer heat.

I went through multiple SD cards over the course of the day and shot several thousand photos.

I’m so thankful for those working in the media accreditation department who sorted everything out and made it all possible.

This was a dream come true for me, and I hope you enjoy seeing the photos as much as I enjoyed shooting them.
