The AJHL's regular season is in full swing, and the Okotoks Oilers didn't disappoint over the opening weekend.

They played back-to-back games against the Canmore Eagles, starting on Friday.

Okotoks took an early lead, ending the first period up 3-0.

Their season opener ended in a decisive 5-1 win, but the Oilers' home opener saw a lot more pushback from the Eagles.

Canmore took the lead around eight minutes into the third period, but Brett Huxley landed an equalizer with just a minute on the clock making it 4-4..

They ended up settling the score in a shootout with the Oilers emerging with a 5-4 win.

Now 2-0 to start the season, they're off to Olds tomorrow (Sept. 19) to face the Grizzlies.

They return home on Friday, Sept. 22 to host Blackfalds.
