The AJHL Okotoks Oilers faced off against the Brooks Bandits on the weekend in pre-season league play.

It was the final weekend of the exhibition season with a home-and-home series between the two rivals.

The Oilers hosted the Bandits on Friday night at the Centennial Arena, but it was the Bandits coming away with a 5-3 win.

The Oilers lead 3-1 after the first period but the Bandits scored four unanswered goals for the victory in front of over 600 green army fans.

The Bandits scored three of their goals on the power play and were 3 for 13 on the night.

The next night in Brooks the Oilers didn't fare any better as they were skunked 4-0 Saturday night in Brooks.

And three more of the Bandits goals came on power plays as the Oilers gave them 14 opportunities.

It's important to note that a veteran heavy squad of Oilers dressed for Friday's game while a rookie laden team dressed for Saturday's game.

The Oilers now get set to start the regular season this Friday in Canmore and then welcome the Eagles to the Centennial this Saturday for the Oilers home opener.

Puck drop is at 7 p.m.
