Okotoks man finds out he'd won the lottery over the summer

An Okotoks man recently found out he'd won the lottery months ago.

In August, Leonard Visser of Okotoks bought a few lottery tickets at the Shell gas sation on North Railway Street.

He didn't follow up to check the tickets, and seemingly forgot about them for a few months.

After finding the old tickets and scanning them, he found he'd won the August 15 EXTRA draw.

All of a sudden, Visser was $100,000 richer.

He was quoted an a Jan. 24 media release from the WCLC.

"I didn't believe it ...It feels surreal."

He hasn't decided what he'll do with his winnings yet, but says he won't wait so long to check his tickets from now on.
