The Okotoks Farmer's Market is on the move to a new location.

Inclusion Foothills, which runs the High River Farmer's Market, has also taken over operations of the market.

Executive Director Orvella Small shared how it happened.

"We were approached by the original operators of the Okotoks Farmer's Market who asked us if we would take it over. But yes, the first market in Okotoks we will be the new managers of the Okotoks Farmer's Market."

The really big news is that they will be in a new location this season.

"The location is what's really different. The original operators had some new things happening for their properties and so the location is going to be at the Centennial Centre but in the arena parking lot."

Small also said they managed to secure the same 'Alberta Farmer's Market' designation which means 80 per cent of the vendors will have 100 per cent of their products either made, baked, or grown in Alberta.

It opens on Friday, June 14, and will keep the same hours as before: 3:30-6:30 p.m.
