An Okotoks deer has gotten itself into a tangle.

Residents have reported seeing a deer with some kind of twine tangled up in its antlers.

It's not unheard of; in the past locals have shared photos of deer with Halloween cobwebs or Christmas lights in their antlers.

Residents are advised not to approach the animals, and instead call the proper authorities if the animal needs help.

Alberta Institute for Wildlife Conservation can be called in the case of injured or orphaned wildlife at (403) 946-2361.

Wildlife emergencies like an aggressive animal encounter should be reported to the Report-a-Poacher line at 1 (800) 642-3800.
