It's one down and one to go for the Okotoks Dawgs.

They hosted the Sylvan Lake Gulls in game one of the WCBL West Finals series on Friday.

Both Okotoks and Sylvan Lake swept their opponents in the semis, but with the Dawgs having emerged victorious in eight out of their ten regular season clashes, they had to have been feeling confident.

The Dawgs drew first blood in the fourth inning with a homer from McCoy Pearce, with Alejandro Zarola notching another for Okotoks in the fifth.

They were able to capitalize on a few Gulls errors, allowing for a more comfortable lead to see them out.

The 4-0 win means they're just one more victory away from securing their WCBL Finals spot.

Game two will be hosted in Sylvan Lake and is scheduled for 7:05 p.m on Saturday, August 13.

If a third game is necessary, both teams will return to Seamon Stadium on Sunday, August 14.
