An open house event is being held over a planned development in northeast Okotoks.

The Town of Okotoks is currently developing the North Point Area Structure Plan (NPASP) for a 267-hectare area planned to be developed west of Highway 2, with 338 Ave running through the middle of it.

According to the town's website, "Initial stages of development are expected to accommodate larger sites for businesses that require minimal servicing. This will transition towards more diverse types of businesses once urban servicing becomes available within the area."

The industrial and commercial developments are planned to take advantage of the area's proximity to Highway 2 and the planned interchange where the highway meets 338 Ave.

The open house allows locals to learn more about how the NPASP is being developed and provide feedback.

It's being held at the Foothills Centennial Centre on May 30 from 5-7 p.m.

Those unable to attend will be able to fill out an online survey from May 30 to June 10.

More information on the NPASP, including the draft plan and the open house, can be seen here.
