The Okotoks Oilers were in Brooks Friday (April 19) for game one of the second-round BCHL best-of-seven playoff series, falling to the Bandits 4-0 and going down in the series 1-0.

The Green and Gold outshot the Bandits 43-37 but couldn't find the back of the net giving Johnny Hicks, Bandits goaltender his first win and shutout in the BCHL playoffs.

In the first period, the Bandits got their first goal of the series from Nathan Free 3:41 into the frame with assists coming from Logan Sawyer and Nicholas DeGraves. Oilers would pepper Hicks with shots but wouldn't get rewarded finishing with a lead of 13-8 in shot totals.

The second period would see the Bandits score for a two-goal lead 4:49 into the frame. Sawyer would then score 13:11 into the period with an assist coming from Free giving them both two points on the night. Bandits would score again to go up 4-0 just 16 seconds later. DeGraves got an assist which would give three bandits multiple point nights. Oilers would outshoot bandits again in the period with a lead of 13-12.

The third period wouldn't see any goals with Christian Green, the Green and Gold's netminder standing tall and stopping all 17 shots he faced in the period. The Oilers would get 17 shots in the period as well with both teams getting a heavy shot totals but no goals scored.

The Oilers won't have a lot of time to think about Friday's (April 19) game since they hit the ice less than 24 hours later.
