Nine buses were taken out of service during an inspection near Lake Louise last week.

Lake Louise RCMP, along with Alberta Sheriffs, specially trained Commercial Vehicle Inspectors, and Park Wardens, inspected buses operating in the Moraine Lake area June 21 and 22.

More than 20 buses ranging from smaller private company buses to full sized-coach buses were looked over.

As a result, nine were taken out of service, eight buses were deemed "requiring immediate attention" and four buses passed inspection.

The reason for the operation was to ensure buses were in safe working order and drivers were complying with provincial and federal legislation.
