The upcoming long weekend is full of fun in Nanton.

The town's annual Round-Up Days gets started Friday, August 4 with a Beat the Heat Ice Cream Social at Centennial Park for those 65 and over.

Saturday at 2:00 at the orange grain elevator there's Nanton's Not So Hot Coal Train Robbery, a play by local writer Larry MacKillop.

Sunday there's the Lion's pancake breakfast, cardboard boat races at the pool, a chilli cook-off and fireworks at Lion's Park at Boomer's Hill on Highway 2 South.

It all wraps up Monday with another pancake breakfast from 7:00 to 9:00 a.m., the parade at 10:00 a.m., the Children's Festival from 11:00 to 3:00, Duck Race along Mosquito Creek, the Nanton Bomber Command Museum Engine Run and the Nanton Nite Rodeo starting at 3:00.
