Trail riders are smiling after coming out to support the 20th Millarville Ride for Stars on September 23rd.

The fundraiser cracked their $1 million dollar net goal by raising over $50 thousand dollars this year.

"It was wonderful, we had a beautiful day, we had a lot of riders come out and some people who couldn't ride this year came out to show support, " exclaimed Events Manager of STARS Alberta, Sally Mansour.

They had great live music and auctions at the dinner afterwards.

Mansour says about $15,000 alone were raised from the dinner fundraising activities.

"We had some very powerful stories shared from people helped by the organization, "says Mansour.

One family from Okotoks who was in an accident in August of 2011 spoke for the first time, and they sponsored the food for the event.

"It was wonderful to be able to hear how everyone in the family was doing, and recovering. The odds of them doing this well didn't look that great and to see them all stand on the stage together was just beautiful, "explained Mansour.

Stars is having a special tribute at the Millarville Race Track for the organizers to honour the reaching of one million dollars.

They are unveiling the placement of the logo which is being moved from the tail of the helicopter to the cowling of the helicopter.

Mansour wants to thank the community for the great support every year and for 20 years ,and hopes they can make it another 20.
